Important legal changes
As part of the sale of part of AXA’s UK life business to Friends Life in September 2010 it was agreed that during 2011 certain policies would be transferred between AXA Wealth Limited, Friends Life Company Limited and Winterthur Life UK Limited.
Three transfers are proposed:
- Two transfers of policies between AXA Wealth Limited and Winterthur Life UK Limited
- The transfer of policies between Friends Life Company Limited (the new name for AXA Sun Life plc) and AXA Wealth Limited

Alternatively you can find the relevant information by policy type:
- If you hold an Over 50 Plan, EasyCover Plan or Funeral Plan written by Friends Life Company Limited (AXA Sun Life plc) before 31st December 2010 click here

Existing AXA Wealth Limited (Sun Life Direct) policyholders
If you hold a Sun Life Direct policy already provided by AXA Wealth Limited:
You would have received a letter from us informing you of the proposed transfers of certain policies between AXA Wealth, Friends Life Company Limited and Winterthur Life.

Friends Life Company Limited (AXA Sun Life plc) and AXA Wealth Limited
UPDATE: On 14 October the English High Court sanctioned the transfer of certain policies between Friends Life Company Limited and AXA Wealth Limited. Read below for more information about the transfer process.
If you are resident in Guernsey or the Isle of Man, on the 18 October 2011 the Royal Court of Guernsey and the High Court of Justice of the Isle of Man sanctioned the transfer of policies between Friends Life Company Limited and AXA Wealth Limited.
If you hold a policy with Friends Life Company Limited, the new name for AXA Sun Life plc:
We are in the process of writing to all policyholders affected by the transfer of policies between Friends Life Company Limited (the new name for AXA Sun Life plc) and AXA Wealth Limited. If you do not receive a letter, this is because your policy is not included in this transfer. In the meantime, for more information click here.
Have you received a letter from us?
If you hold a “Transfer Policy” proposed to transfer from Friends Life Company Limited, the new name for AXA Sun Life plc, to AXA Wealth Limited (except corporate trustee investment plans):
You would have received a letter informing you of the proposed transfer of your policy.

If you are resident in Guernsey, on the 20 September 2011 the Royal Court of Guernsey sanctioned the transfer of your policy to AXA Wealth Limited.
